I’ve installed Open SUSE 10.2 from DVD that came shrinkwraped with latest Linux PRO magazine ( Feb. Hardware detection is great and automatic system configuration is great ( at least better than other distribution did on my Duron 850 MHz system) ) That way you wont get the message saying "Unable to detect TWAIN source".Open SUSE is nice looking distro. (InĬlick Windows Virtual PC, click Windows XP Mode Applications, and then click the program you want to open. To use it properly, Start XPMode (Attach CanoScan) minimize the window and run the toobox application. I installed ScanGear CS and CanoScan Toolbox (in the virtual XP OS) and it was all good.

I Disabled my NOD 32 / Lavasoft Ad-Aware and retried the setup. On this step I expirienced very slow Setup process ending up with error "try again".

I recommend you config the Canon application to save scans somewhere on your hard drive other than the default XPMUser location, like maybe Public or your own folder = makes
